Support for the Budget Adjustment, Resolution, and Loan Agreement with Honey Run Covered Bridge Association (HRCBA) for Reconstruction of the Honey Run Covered Bridge Using PG&E Settlement Funds
On behalf of Explore Butte County, I am asking you to vote in favor of the Budget Adjustment, Resolution, and Loan Agreement with Honey Run Covered Bridge Association (HRCBA) for Reconstruction of the Honey Run Covered Bridge Using PG&E Settlement Funds as outlined in the board packet. The Honey Run Covered Bridge provided Butte County with a one of a find attraction for visitors to experience as the only covered bridge in the United States with three unequal sections and was only one of eleven covered bridges still standing in California. Rebuilding the bridge would be an opportunity to highlight a truely unique visitor experience within Butte County.
Explore Butte County’s mission is to inspire people to visit Butte County, create tourism opportunities that contribute to economic vitality, and builds community through partnerships. In 2021, the visitor economy generated $301.1M in travel-related spending in Butte County which generated $28.3M in state and local tax revenues.
