Pursuant to Government Code section 27388, and Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 08-156, a fee is paid at the time of recording certain real estate documents for the purpose of providing funds for the District Attorney to deter, investigate, and prosecute real estate fraud through the Real Estate Fraud Investigation and Prosecution Program. In accordance with annual reporting requirements, the District Attorney's Office submits its annual report to the Board of Supervisors regarding the effectiveness of the Real Estate Fraud Investigation and Prosecution Program.
