On behalf of the Western Canal Water District, we would encourage the Board to appoint a commissioner with more experience in water issues, especially local water issues including the Sustainable Water Management Act, California Water Policy, Chapter 33 and local water management.
The Butte County Water Commission plays an important local role and this appointment requires thoughtful consideration and recruitment. Sincerely, Anjanette Shadley, Assistant General Manager
It would be more productive for the discussion of ideas and water management if the choice of commissioner put forward for consideration had previous knowledge and or background in water.
The Butte County Farm Bureau is disappointed in the recommend appointment of Mr. Peterson to the Water Commission. While we are certain Mr. Peterson is concerned Butte County resident, we hope the Board of Supervisors would encourage and seek volunteer residents with knowledge, education, investment and/or a background in water, environment and/or natural resources to this important advisory commission. Water is Butte County's most valuable natural resource and seating commission members with little to no understanding of our landscape and history is irresponsible.
